Serra Gelada Natural Park is in the municipalities of Benidorm, Alfaz del Pi and Altea. With protected coastline and cliffs that stand 300 m high this unspoilt location is a haven for those wanting some quiet time. There are dune fossils, imposing rock formations, vertical cliffs and tiny islands where birds come to nest and two flora micro-reserves: one on land and the other in the sea. La Laguna de la Mata is a unique and protected environment. This protected area of 700 hectares was declared by the Valencian government as a protected park in 1989. La laguna de la mata is connected to the sea through a channel where water is supplied to the lagoon and shelters a multitude of birds and animals. It heats the water that will later be transferred to the Torrevieja lagoon for the extraction and processing of salt.

The park is perfect for all ages including pets and here you can find picnic areas, viewpoints and bird observatories ... which are the great attractions of this protected natural area. It is a beautiful place to walk or relax in the shade of its of pine trees.

The Natural Park of El Fondo is located within the municipal boundaries of Elx/Elche and Crevillent both of which are within the comarca of Baix Vinalopó in the south of the Valencian Community in the east of Spain. The park is a protected wetland and a conservation for wild birds. This natural park is formed by a number of lagoons, of which the two largest are manmade and are called Levante, which has a surface area of 450 hectares and Poniente, with an area of 650 hectares.
